In the mid-2000s, I heard a story on National Public Radio about the impact of colony collapse disorder on bee populations. The story concluded by saying that growth in hobbyist beekeepers would promote diversity, decrease disease, and be a mechanism to combat CCD. Although Shannon Park Farm (SPF) was originally intended for this purpose, in recent years, I've shifted SPF's focus to creating custom wood furniture focusing on sustainably sourced reclaimed and other woods from Shannon Park Farm.

Prior to launching SPF as a full-time endeavor, I worked as an attorney and executive in the consulting industry for about 20 years, focusing on emergency management in the electric and gas utility business.  In addition, I've served as a firefighter, Emergency Medical Technician, and Board Officer of a nationally-renowned fire/rescue department.
